Having become the sole customer and buyer of the art, the Soviet government would come up with certain demands to create canvases for larger masses of people implying the worshipping of socialistic ideologies. The only sphere that allowed metaphoric and imaginary interpretation in art was book illustrations and sketches for theatrical decorations.
