The copyright belongs to the members of Saryan’s family: daughter-in-law Araksi Saryan and grandchildren Katarine, Ruben, Ruzanna, and Sophie Saryans.

Regardless of any property rights (whether the piece of work is the property of state museum or private owner), the exclusive right belongs to the family of the artist.

A copyright agreement must be signed with the family of the artist, in case Saryan’s paintings are used for any production that pursues material benefit.

Copyright also includes personal non-property rights of Saryan’s heirs: protection of painting (regardless of ownership) from any kind of distortion (including the name) or other infringements (duplication or falsification) capable of damaging the honor and dignity of the author (the right to protect the author’s reputation).
